16 Week Started Gun Dog Program

With our 16-week program, you can be confident that your dog will develop the skills necessary to excel in the field, making your hunting experience more enjoyable and rewarding. We cover all of the basic and advanced obedience not only in the field but also real life distractions. Your gun dog is not a gun dog 12 months out of the year. We ensure you also have the ability to have a well trained companion by your side during the off season in and out of a family enviroment.

Our training program develops your dog’s skills in the following areas:

Basic Commands:

• Come
• Sit
• Down
• Heel on and off leash
• Place/Platform
• Dead or Drop
• Send away to place
• Directional commands
• Stop in motion
• Back

Recall Techniques:

• Long and short distances
• Come to heel

Retrieval Skills:

• Load
• Force Fetch
• Hold
• Blind Retrieval
• Single and double retrieves
• Delivery to hand

Tracking and Ground Work:

• Basic odor tracking
• Ground work

Water Skills:

• Water entry and exit while retrieving

Gun Familiarization:

• Introduction to the gun and a minimum of 100 shots before completion of program 

Marking Techniques:

• Throws from multiple directions 
• Frozen birds and live birds available 
• Use of human and machine throwers for realization
